MEANING & CONTEXT
What does Dandapani mean?
Dandapani combines daṇḍa, staff, with pāṇi, hand. Sanskrit uses the whole word for a staff-bearer and as a name of Yama, the deity of death and justice. In Tamil worship Dandapani also names Murugan in his staff-bearing form.
