MEANING & CONTEXT
What does Subir mean?
Subir joins the Sanskrit-derived prefix su, “good” or “excellent”, to Bengali bir, “hero”. Bengali poetry and storytelling use bir for heroic figures, giving the compound a literary setting as well as a literal sense.
