MEANING & CONTEXT
What does Sukhavindra mean?
Sukhvinder, the usual Punjabi form, joins sukh, “happiness”, with inder, from Sanskrit indra, here used in the sense of “chief” or “lord”. Indra is the king of the gods in the Vedas, and as a final element his name gives many names the meaning of a ruler. The v before inder is the linking sound found in Punjabi names such as Harvinder and Gurvinder.
