MEANING & CONTEXT
What does Suryakali mean?
The first half is the Sanskrit sūrya, the sun, honoured in the Vedas as a deity and pictured on a chariot drawn by seven horses. The second half, kalī, is a flower bud, so the name speaks of a bud opening to the sun.
