MEANING & CONTEXT
What does Vidyapati mean?
Vidyapati joins vidya, "learning", with pati, "lord", and in Sanskrit is used for a chief scholar of a court. The Maithili poet Vidyapati of the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries bore the name, and his songs of Radha and Krishna and of Shiva are still sung across Mithila.
